Thank you Jon for getting this site up and running!

Here is my story:

I received a mass spam email letter that described a home-based business where you could make anywhere from "$2001-$5000 per week". Naturally, I was curious having never been scammed before. I visited the website listed:
http://www.mastermindteam.com and thought it all sounded very interesting. I could earn money while learning how to make my money work for me, get out of credit card debt, regain my freedom (I did not know I had lost it), become judgement proof, and more. None of this seemed to important to me at the time, since I had no money, and did not see why (now I know) one needed to be "judgement proof." I suggest you visit that website for more details.

So, I filled out the "application for consultation" and later received a call from a man named Jeff Segal of Everest Marketing Group, LLC. ( http://www.everestmktg.com ) He is based in New Mexico.
jeff@mastermindteam.com or jeff@everestmktg.com He gave me his scripted speech about how I could make $10,000 in the next 60 days. If I was interested, then I needed to go to a "live conference call". So, that night he 3-wayed me into the conference call center. If you don't make over $50,000 dollars a year, they will first want to make sure you have enough money before they waste time with you. They will tell you to put it on a credit card, get a loan, steal from your mother, or "whatever it takes to make your dreams come true." If you "qualify for their time", i.e. they think they can sucker you, you will be invited to the "live call where all your questions will be answered." There were "hundreds" of other suckers like me on the conference call, but an exact number is not possible for me to tell. They proceeded to give us a great song and dance about how wonderful this organization was, complete with testimonials, and more. It was all very systematic. If you have not been "through the system", you should give it a try. Go to a http://www.successlinks.com and follow the steps for more information. It is a REAL education on how people are scammed.

But, back to the story… here is how the system works. After you sign up you need to find 2 people to sign up using the same system. These two people are "training sales"-you need to give them to your sponsor in true pyramid fashion. After you find two new people who want to be in the business then you are "qualified" to make money selling the same business opportunity. Well, after I had already signed up for G1 ($1250 dollar tape program) kind ol' Jeff said that he would allow me to only give him one new person if I signed up for Global 2 seminar where the "big money is." I was taken to another conference call where I was told how great G2 was, and how I would make a fortune with the investments they talk about when you are down in Cancun for the seminar. So, I found two credit cards of mine that still had some remaining credit and split the $5500 dollars between the two of them. Jeff was reluctant to accept credit cards; he wanted cash. But, I told him that I could not get that much in cash advance off my credit cards, so he relented.

So, here I am in debt by $7000 dollars, and I am ready to get started. I was given a list of leads to call--- these are sold by a company called Pro-Step (
http://www.prostepinc.com/) which Global has their pockets deep into. I called many people without much luck. Sometimes I got lucky with one of the leads I got from my website and the people would be willing to listen to one of the conference calls. I found that these calls were ALWAYS the same. There were the same testimonials, same people on the line, same lies, same everything.

Then I was referred to this website by somebody I tried to recruit,
http://www.kellyfreehold.com/global/ and http://global-prosperity.netfirms.com and began to learn what the organization was really about. When I confronted Jeff with this site, a site that details a lot of the illegal activities of Global Prosperity Group, he just said it was old and meaningless. But, a scam is a scam is a scam…

So, what has happened? I never made a penny, despite all their claims. And, when I discovered it was a scam, I certainly could not make money from it. I have heard many stories from former global members about the b.s. investments they put you into. Right now I am in debt up to my butt. I do not trust any opportunities anymore. My wife is so angry with me that she has threatened to leave, and I have been out of work for months because "I should not be working a 'J.O.B'"--- yes they tell you to quit your day job. I have friends and family telling me "I told you so." I know I am very stupid and gullible etc, but I am comforted to know that there are over 50,000 other suckers out there just like myself. I am not the only idiot.

By the way you don't hear from these people because the organization has training calls throughout the week teaching new "associates" how to bring in new associates. These, in my opinion, are just brain-washing sessions; where you are convinced that because you are not making thousands a week it is your own fault. There are always the same stories from the same people who have retired because of global, and how you have got to believe in yourself and the "product" etc. If you are not making money it is because you are "thinking in poverty consciousness" etc, etc. We are encouraged to buy these motivational tapes made by former members of Global that will teach us how to make thousands of dollars a week. These tapes also cost hundreds of dollars. But, if you take a step back and actually listen to what is going on, it really IS brainwashing. I believe this is done so there are relatively few people like me who, after losing all their money, or somehow figuring it out that it is all a scam, will not complain, because it is all "my fault."

So, stay away from global prosperity 2001 or whatever they are calling themselves these days.
