The next Life Extension Society meeting will be at 2 pm on Sunday, February 2nd, 2003, at Joel Finkelman's house, 9812 Dillston Road, Silver Spring, Maryland.
From or through DC:
Take New Hampshire Ave. north toward Maryland. Just before the New Hampshire Ave. / Beltway intersection, take a left on Oakview Drive. Take Oakview Drive to Braddock Road. Make a right on Braddock Road. Make a Left on Dillston Road.
From VA or points East and West:
Take the Beltway to the New Hampshire Ave. exit in Silver Spring. (This is near the border between Montgomery and PG counties.) Exit at New Hampshire Ave. going South. Right on Oakview Drive. Take Oakview Drive to Braddock Road. Make a right on Braddock Road. Make a Left on Dillston Road.
Take Metro to the Silver Spring station on the Red Line. Take the #20 Ride-On bus that leaves the station at 1:30 pm. It should pass by the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Oakview at about 1:50. Go west (left) on Oakview Drive to Braddock Road. Make a right on Braddock Road. Make a Left on Dillston Road. It should be only about a five minute walk from the bus.
If you miss that bus, the next ones leave the Silver Spring Metro at 2:00, 2:20, 2:40, and 3:00. The bus costs 25 cents with a Metrorail transfer.
Buses returning to the Silver Spring Metro pass by that corner at 3:10, 3:40, 4:10, 4:40, 5:10, 5:40, etc. Return fare is 90 cents.
If you prefer to avoid buses, it should be possible to walk from the Silver Spring Metro to the meeting place in about an hour, or to bike it in about 15 minutes. (Bikes are allowed on Metro on weekends. Bike permits are no longer required.) I recommend using a map. Please email me if you prefer to get directions.
