Meeting of April 1, 1983
In a crowded hotel room at Balticon, Rosa Oliver (co-proprietor
of said crowded room) presiding. The meeting was called to order
at 10:14:53 PM. The minutes were approved as read. The Treasurer
reported that we got a check for Disclave '82 of $2,954.83, for a
total of $5,459.51.
There were no COMMITTEE REPORTS, OLD BUSINESS, or NEW BUSINESS.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Somehow a committee report snuck its way into the end of my minutes:
DISCLAVE '83 has 575 members.
The meeting adjourned in favor of The Great Party Hunt at 10:22:25 PM.
Meeting of April 15, 1983
At Oliver's, Rosa Oliver presiding. Joe Mayhew served as Acting
Secretary. The meeting gathered itself together at 9:41 PM. The
minutes of the previous meeting were absent and therefore postponed.
Perhaps they will be waived at the next meeting. The Treasurer
reported $5,437.30 in the WSFA Vault, and suggested those delinquent
in their dues should pay them before being relegated to the outer
darkness as non-members.
COMMITTEES
DISCLAVE '83: Rosa reported 621 paid members so far. Alan asked whether committee members would like him to book them into a committee block. Joe and Gay Haldeman are coming, as is Gardner Dozois, Carl Lundgren, but sadly not Charles Sheffield, who will be in England. Jul reported that the Dealer's Room is sold out.
D'UDDERCLAVE: Jul reported that D'Udderclave cost about $300 to put on, and the club indicated that was reasonable for such a great party.
OLD BUSINESS: None.
NEW BUSINESS: 5th Friday party. Vicki Smith's place was volunteered (Editor's Note: by her?) It is a time-sharing condo up in the mountains of Virginia about 2 hours from Washington. Alexis offered Chez Gilliland. A close vote decided on the Gilliland's, but Vicki's kind offer will not be forgotten.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The meeting adjourned at 10:08 PM to the cries of "Let them eat cake!"
ELECTIONS will be held at the first meeting in May.
The official Trustees' slate:
For President: Alexis Gilliland.
For Vice President: Michael Walsh
For Secretary: Beverly Brandt
For Treasurer: Bob Oliver
For Trustees: Alan Huff, Avedon Carol, Steve Smith
Other nominations will be accepted from the floor at the elections
meeting.
