President Erica Van Dommelen called the meeting to order at 9:14 pm, at the Gilliland's house.
Committee Reports:
Publications: Secretary Rachel Russell passed out journals. The Journal contained an exciting SURVEY. Please return the survey no later than 3rd Friday in April so I can compile the results. I also had an address list blown up big size so people can and SHOULD check their name and address and phone again no later than 3rd Friday April.
Treasurer: We have $6,932.50. Dues are due and payable. The increase in our holdings came from closing last year's Disclave books.
Trustees: They said nada.
Disclave Present: Eva brought the Disclave flier and people stuffed, folded, etc.
Disclave Future: The artist GoH Alicia Austin accepted.
Entertainment: Nothing.
The Committee to Spend a Great Deal of Money on Something Extremely Expensive and Incredibly Controversial: Chairfan John Pomeranz said funds will be provided to obtain US Army music for the Disclave dance. Details to follow.

Announcements: Several people liked "Hunt for Red October." Steven Fetheroff has a copy of a research paper about silly putty.

At 9:55 President Erica Van Dommelen reconvened the business special meeting, open to voting members only. The meeting was turned over to Vice President Tom Schaad.
A motion was presented by Eva Whitey, Disclave 1990 Chair, asking WSFA to loan Disclave '90 $3,500 to be repaid upon sale of books. The reason is that the Mike Resnick book to be sold at the con costs $5000 to be printed, and the money is due now. Disclave '90 only has $1,500. The press run of the book will be 500, and only 200 sales will earn back the $5000.
Discussion took place concerning how foolish we'd look if we didn't publish the book after all the work Mike Resnick and Jack Chalker have done. It was also pointed out that if we didn't print the book, the fliers would be wrong and there would be yet another delay in mailing the fliers. It was noted that in the past this type of loan has been made to Disclave. It was finally noted that in the past the investment has been paid off.
The motion was put to a vote. Ayes: 28, Nays: I.
The motion carried, and the meeting was adjourned.
