hedgehog (#786) mentioned the short story "/Dekabrach/ (Jack Vance,
except I can't google it, help!)"

There is, oddly enough, a mention of "A Dekabrach Called Wanda" in
a discussion comparing someone's mental image of the Pnume/Phung
gait to John Cleese.

But I also found "decabrach" in an online Russian translation
entitled "\320"\320\260\321EUR \320\261\320\276\320\273\321'\321
f\320\275\320\276\320\262," which AltaVista translates as "The Gift of
the Chatterers," probably the good vodka/rotten meat version of "The
Gift of Gab".  That was published in Astounding in September, 1955,
and collected in the Jack Vance Treasury and Silverbob's Alpha 3.
I forget where to find a better bibliography, so there may be other
sources.
