I saw immediately that this was not possible as an ordinary Sudoku
puzzle.  Rather than put children atop each other, I tried modifying
the letter forms by adding more ink.  With the modifications

  I -> D
  I -> H
  I -> F -> E -> B
  C -> G

I could not find a aolution.  Perhaps she used H -> B or D -> B.
Or even H -> A in block printing.
