@339 Should I worry about spoiling a fifty-year-old movie?  I'll take
the chance.

For me, the most memorable scene is at the end of Butterfield 8
when she's cruising down the road free as a bird and then WHAM the
Code jumps out and kills her.  You know the Code is going to get
her because it's explicitly written into the Code, but the sudden
artificiality of the ending is just the naked Code at its most
brutal and unreasoning.  I'm more than half persuaded it was a
piece of satire ahead of its time.
