That's close, but not quite what I read in the DC City Paper (which
has been known to get things wrong, but...)  According to their
review, the young girl says eighteen but the narrator--her older
self--says that it was a lie.  It was the narrator's correction that
was excised.

Having never seen the uncut version, I can't say which account is
accurate.
