but if you want to know how many _nights_ there are a month, you can
use this mnemonic by Justin Richardson from _The_Faber_Book_of_
_Useful_Verse_ (Simon Brett, ed.)

  Rhyme for Remembering How Many Nights
  There are in the Month

  Thirty-one nights hath December,
  Plus six others we remember--
  Jan., July, Aug., May, Mar., Oct.
  The rest to thirty nights are docked,
  Save Feb., which twenty-nine hath clear,
  And twenty-eight each un-leap year.

If only my grandfather had known this.  He performed laborious
calculations in biblical numerology, using 365.25 days per year
and 365 nights.
