There are letters from Ellison in The Last Deadloss Visions/Book on the Edge of Forever admitting the authors' rights to take back their stories (and begging them not to do so). From his 14 December 1977 to all contributors: "It is incumbent on me to advise you once again that the stories have, in fact, reverted to you. Long since. You can refuse to sign, keep the advance payment you received, and sell the story elsewhere. Or you can trust me just one more time and stay with the project." I'm not sure if he's added any more contributors since then, and if so what their status is. Dan Hoey@AIC.NRL.Navy.Mil
