Chad Leigh November 17, 1994 chad@xmission.com Chad -- CL> Could someone from the 2nd Amendment Liberty Caucus or CL> whatever the Libertarian caucus for the 2nd amendment CL> is called please contact me? The fact that I received several variations on this from all over the continent is a testimony to our system of communications. I also got your somewhat longer confidential message. I'm replying openly so folks will know they can stop sending me copies. I'm the founder of the Libertarian Second Amendment Caucus (LSAC) a small group (at present) with members in three countries. LSAC is a "unanimous consent" organization and has no real leader as such. Its short-range aim is to be a two-way communications bridge between Libertarians and gunfolk; its long-range goal is to usher into power a party that will _enforce_ the Bill of Rights. Its most successful "chapter" so far is in Phoenix, where you should contact Mike Dugger at mdugger@ramp.com. To "join" the LSAC, you need to A) be a Libertarian, preferably a party member, willing to sign the Non-Aggression pledge, B) that you be a gun-owner who belongs to at least one major organization (NRA, GOA, SAF, etc), and C) that you subscribe without significant reservation to the LSAC Statement of Principles (below). As to myself, I've been a Libertarian for 33 years and a party member (off and on) for 22. I've been an NRA Life member for 21 years almost all of which I've spent trying to convince gun people it makes more sense to vote for a small party they can trust (and thereby turn it into a large party) than vote for an established party that history clearly demonstrates they can't trust. I'm also a competitive shooter (NRA Hunter's Pistol), a retired gunsmith, a former reserve police officer, and with three more in the pipe, the author of 17 published novels, two of which have won awards and every one of which very strongly supports the individual right to own and carry weapons. (For instance, see the October 1994 _Guns & Ammo_, page 86, under "Recommended Reading".) I make speeches, write newspaper columns and magazine articles, and will start my own radio show in January if everything turns out. I/we would love to participate in the discussions you're planning. Just tell me what I need to do. Thank you very much, Neil ================================================================= There is no _AWAY_?
