Sally and Lee,
"Neutral good" means that Sally is benevolent rather than
malevolent, but indifferent about lawful behavior versus chaotic behavior.
In other words, she is balanced between orderliness and anarchy, but
definitely seeks to help rather than hurt others. Comment: A law librarian
would typically lawful rather than neutral.
"Elf" is a member of a nonhuman fantasy race physically resembling
Star Trek Vulcans. Fantasy elves are typically nature loving, peaceful
altho capable of defending themselves, musical and poetic, long lived, and
magical. The negative view of them is arrogant treehuggers indifferent to
others. The movie _The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring_
(LOTR: FOTR) presents them pretty well, including other races' reactions to
them.
"Bard" is a professinal musician and storyteller. A science fiction
writer or a librarian might be considered a bard in the larger sense altho
medieval period bards were typically singers. "Mage" is magician, a wielder
of an exotic technology known as magic. Gandalf in LOTR: FOTR and Merline
in the Arthurian cycle are good examples.
