Many bookstores that have croaked would have croaked if Denver's Tattered =
Cover Bookstore had opened near them. Many were poorly run, and run =
without the idea of being a business.

In the case of the Mystery Shop on Dupont, the only retail bookstores that =
I know of nearby are:
Olssons on Dupont
maybe a Books-A-Million in the old Crown location on Dupont
a bit further away is the Borders at Faragut North, B&Ns in Georgetown & =
Metro Center.

FWIW, one of the best independent bookstores in NYC recently closed - =
Coliseum Books just south of Columbus Circle. Their already high NYC rent =
was tripled by the new landlord. Hello Starbucks!

Anyway, does anyone know why the Mystery Bookshop is closing?

& if y'all need a mystery fix, might I suggest The Mysterious Bookshop in =
NYC? A stones throw from Carneige Hall. Small store, lots of mail order, =
losts of signed copies. Their url be: http://www.mysteriousbookshop.com/.=
