I'm not sure what asking for papers does. In an age where practically
everyone from ages 16 to 20 has a fake ID for drinking purposes, how hard
would it it be for potential terrorists to acquire suitable identification?

On the other hand, if a person has purchased a ticket with a credit card or
over the phone, it makes sense that someone checks to make sure the person
didn't just steal the ticket and is the one who will be paying the bill.
