I've nver been asked to show ID for Amtrak.  Not when
I've pruchased in person and not when I've ordered by
mail.  My dad has been asked to show ID when he's
ordered from the website and picked the ticket up from
the station.  When I ordered from the website but had
the ticket mailed to me I didn't have to show ID.  Of
course, at the time I was travelling, the 6:25 train
had been cancelled and they were trying to fit what
seemed like half of Union station on the 5:40 train to
NYC, so the station attendants may not have asked for
id in an effort not to be trasmpled to death by the
irate crowd.
