That's $4.50 transferred from a bloated plutocrat to a deserved underprivileged person! -----Original Message----- From: Michael Walsh [mailto:MJW at mail.press.jhu.edu] Sent: Wednesday, March 06, 2002 3:31 PM To: WSFAlist at keithlynch.net Subject: [WSFA] Amtrak Security ? Yeah, right. So . . .a few weeks ago I was in NYC. Bought some books and decided to = send them to Baltimore ahead of me. Packed 'em up in my suitcase, lugged = it over to Penn Station to Checked Baggage and was told that only = passengers with reserved seating tickets could check baggage through to = their destination. Peons like me, with a non reserved seating ticket, could leave the = suitcase at Checked Baggage to pick up later - for a small fee of $4.50. = (I'm sooooo glad they didn't say "convenience fee" . . . ) So . . . how many "security" holes can *you* poke in this. Y'now, I wouldn't mind most of the security hassles if they actually = accomplished anything - other than aggravation. mjw I got your $4.50 right here buddy . . .
