Great story, characters, SF concept. The I read "The Vor Game" after it was nominated for the Hugo the next year. Well written, but to me just space opera with the twist that the hero is a dwarf. I haven't read anything by her since, and, IMHO, her Hugos are popularity prizes. I like the illos I've seen of the treecats, though...wonder if there's a local breeder? (My apologies to the treecats if they are sentient!)
