about Arthur C. Clarke.  Love the short fiction, but
while I didn't actively dislike Rama or Childhood's
End, I don't consider them masterpeices that I would
encourage eveyone I know to read.

Actually, I rather enjoyed the Rama books - the rather aloof stance of the
narrator made them very relaxing to read.  The one author I have a bad time
with is Asimov - fascinating ideas, but I challenge anybody to find a real
live breathing personn in him any where.
