Yes! Great book, great author. I love medical stuff, so medical science
fiction is the ultimate, and the ultimate medical science fiction (except
for "Little Black Bag") is the Sector General Series by White.

Didn't mean to imply an active dislike of Rama. I
enjoyed it.  I thought it was basically a travelogue
and a pleasant read.  It's just that like other books,
it had been majorly hyped to me, so I guess I
expecting more than just a book long description of an
interesting spaceship.
