Another way to avoid lines is to volunteer yourself. *S* Which is how I
got to see the 2000 Hugos in person, with a reasonably good seat, and
saw most of the '01 Masquerade entrants up close. Of course, it takes a
chunk out of your late afternoon and evening, which could be spent doing
other stuff (panels, resting, dinner- forgettable stuff like that. *S*)

Ase(Thinking about what to volunteer for at ConJose- the art show, of
course, and maybe the Masquerade again? It was pretty fun [in an
exhausting, time eating sort of way] last time.)
