Seriously, do you think we care? WSFAns in the past have been very tolerant of strange and/or messy goings-on in my house. I try to keep things at least somewhat sanitary and shove aside the worst of the mess; then Karl gets cranky when he can't find something he left on the table 2 weeks before! Even as I type, my house is being cleaned by a wonderful woman named Barbara, the first good cleaning it's had since our beloved but intellectually deprived Cindy retired a year and a half ago. She will have been here again before 3rd Fri., so neatness, sanitation, and organization may gain the upper hand before Capclave. I can't help but be reminded of the comments Alan Huff made behind my back after the first WSFA meeting we held at Stately Ginter Manor: Erica is anti-child and wants to keep her house in perfect condition and perfectly neat, which isn't possible if you're going to have WSFA at your house. I had reprimanded his children (whom he was ignoring) for running up and down the upstairs hall screaming and slamming their hands and bodies into the walls, and asked people to please clean up anything they spilled. And we'd only been in the house a month, so have our clutter was still packed! Alan decided to hold some sort of "family-friendly" WSFA alternative on 3rd Fridays; that lasted about 2 months and attracted nearly nobody except the proprieters (can't say caretakers) of a few horrid unruly offspring that we were all glad to be without. Anyway, we come for the company and converstion, not the neatness and decor! Don't say you weren't warned. These bozos have been at this for THREE WEEKS. I want my kitchen back! _________________________________________________________________
