But your argument still might not go over, since a bunch of libertarians held a public demonstration in Washington against the anti-Microsoft suit a couple of years ago, as a matter of principle, despite the fact that most of them probably didn't think much of Gates, Windows, Microsoft, or its business practices. I think the idea behind the protest was that Microsoft was being unfairly attacked for its success, the government not being satisfied with the billions in tax revenue it has garnered from Microsoft and its employees over the years. For most individual and small business PC users, using Microsoft products is the path of least resistance, and I think MS will continue to have a defacto monopoly in PC software to the extent that the public continues to take that path of least resistance.
