An item in the news today mentioned that U.S. aid to Israel has amounted
to $60 billion since 1979.  Of course Egypt has also received billions in
U.S. aid over the years, and the PA has also gotten funding from the U.S.
and the E.U.  Whatever that money has bought us, it does not seem to have
bought peace.  Sixty billion dollars amounts to $30,000 per capita (if
there are 2 million Palestinians).  One wonders if perhaps $60 billion
shouldn't be enough to literally buy Gaza and half the West Bank.
