They are also reflected in the shifts of power at the Federal level, and even more pointedly in places where very serious states rights advocates shoot at park service staff and forest rangers. As a career (and now retired) civil servant, I have a strong interest in a powerful and effective central government. If only the power could be used a little more wisely and, dare I say, morally.
