I suggest that interested parties apply Civics 101 and write/email their Members of Congress with constructive advice. -----Original Message----- From: Steve Smith [mailto:sgs at aginc.net] Sent: Thursday, April 11, 2002 11:58 AM To: WSFA members Subject: [WSFA] Re: The Constitution and the Citizen "Strong, Lee" wrote: > > Barry, I agree with most of your comments. Keep thinking and discussing -- two > great ways to defeat the terrorist mentality! Absolutely! One of the more promising things I've seen post 9/11 is that the Government doesn't seem to have used any of the more Draconian provisions of the PATRIOT act (a most unfortunate piece of legislation, IMHO). The law enforcement types, of course, are well aware that it's not enough to arrest the Bad Guys. You also have to get a conviction, and the conviction has to stand up under appeal. Busting somebody under a law that may be declared unconstitutional is not something you want to do. -- Steve Smith sgs at aginc.net Agincourt Computing http://www.aginc.net "Truth is stranger than fiction because fiction has to make sense."
