Well, atleast the early ones; later they became self-parodies and boring.

Two earlier Laumer books might be of obscure interest, for those who care: =
his novel of life in the diplomatic corp: EMBASSY (tho "mainstream" does =
have a skiffy connection) and his classic: HOW TO DESIGN AND BUILD FLYING =
MODELS  [airplanes, not Naomi Campbell)
