Flew out on Thursday, got home so late on Monday that it was Tuesday. Spent Friday morning on Dave's porch, soaking up the sun like a cat, and then meetings all the way through to Monday morning with the Fairmont. I'm tired, but pleased. The meetings went extremely well. As often seems to happen at this point in a Worldcon the committee has collectively pulled itself up by its bootstraps, become cohesive, and is working its collective tail off. The site is good -- although I spent most of my time at the Fairmont, and so didn't see everything -- people are on track, and I have good expectations for the convention. > > I haven't had time to skim RASFF or look at anything else so don't > > know if someone just forwarded an online announcement to them or > > what. I have no idea of why the announcement hasn't been made and am now quite concerned. Mike? Sam? We've had the contract signed for a while now and I thought that the announcement was ready to go before I left almost a week ago. So: When will it be announced? I don't care about why it hasn't been and see absolutely no reason to go into it. I also see no reason for holding off any longer and every reason for getting the news out. Elspeth
