Keith is providing a high quality service essentially free to WSFA members and we should recognize his work for what it is. The issue raised by the pretty Lee is best addressed by WSFAns learning how to use our collective tools better. As Secretary, I noted a lot of announcements that wound up appearing after the event date because of the _Journal_ publication schedule. A serious waste of time in most cases. We simply need to be aware of the publication schedules of our media and announce in the appropriate medium in adequate time for others to benefit from the announcement. -----Original Message----- From: ronkean at juno.com [mailto:ronkean at juno.com] Sent: Thursday, April 18, 2002 12:04 AM To: WSFAlist at keithlynch.net Subject: [WSFA] Re: Stone Ridge book sale On Wed, 17 Apr 2002 17:55:26 -0400 Barry Newton <bnewton at ashcomp.com> writes: > Just for the record, thanks, Keith. In running the email list, Keith has provided a high level of service which would be unobtainable with most any automated or free-of-cost list service. He checks each message from an unknown or unregistered address to see if it is legit, and updates the address 'white list' to include that alternate source address. He scrupulously keeps the website up to date, he maintains the message archive and reports traffic statistics, and he promptly dealt with the emergency which arose when the free hosting was suddenly dropped. I don't think WSFA could get more professional results from any commercial hosting/list service. Ron Kean
