Those would have been fun anthologies to work on! Maybe someday, armed with

to War, by Ernest Volkman, from Wiley.  The subtitle on that is:  The
Search for the Ultimate Weapon, from Greek Fire to Star Wars.

It's intimidating when you look at the new titles and want to spend a
couple of hundred dollars.
