I only hear about it in a fantasy context (Wizard of Oz, > Smallville etc.) I grew up in Kansas, and I'm still not sure of its reality quotient. A couple of years ago, I went back to the itty bitty town in the middle of nowhere that I did some growing up in (Elkhart). It has a gay bar now. Guy at the restaurant (note singular) said that they were getting a local internet service provider; that didn't seem to work (I can't find it now). Then again, Delaware has its oddities. Bethany Beach, for example, advertises itself as a "family" (boring) resort, but it has its own strangeness (see http://www.beach-net.com/history/totempole.html. It's actually much uglier than the picture.) -- Steve Smith sgs at aginc.net Agincourt Computing http://www.aginc.net "Truth is stranger than fiction because fiction has to make sense."
