I started in the southern part of the South Island, which is like northern Scotland, and as I moved north I mailed home my heavier clothes. Since New Zealand has about four or five different airmail shipping rates (air mail is commonplace between islands) it was relatively inexpensive, and made it much easier for me to manage luggage. Kit
