I'll second the recommendation of Hole in the Wall.

Another source of *really cheap* used books is the Wheaton Regional
Library, just off Georgia Avenue on Arcola Ave.  (couple of blocks north
of University, east side of the street)  Most of the time the library is
open, they have a *huge* selection of used books for sale in the basement.
