Ah, the death spiral of books that didn't sell or the publisher printer =
way too many of.  Or both.

I remember eons ago picking up at in the remainder book bin at the Rexall =
Drug Store in the Hollin Hall Shopping Center in Alexandria, VA a copy of =
The Man In the High Castle.  In jacket. A first edition.  I think it was =
no more that $1.00, problably even less.

I don't think the heaps of Piers Anthony books will be worth a whole heck =
of a lot in the near or far future.
