I think there was an outer limits episode (both
incarnations) entitled "I robot," which dealt with the
described scenario of a robot having killed its
creator.  Perhaps they've kind of merged the concepts
together and figured "I Robot" was a useful and easily
recognizable umbrella title.

I'm just hoping it doesn't end up like The
Bicentennial Man.
