All,

I recently encountered a nifty trick, which p'raps some of you already
know:

Oftentimes webpage URLs are so lengthy that they get "broken" with
carriage returns when emailed in plain-text or converted to plain-text
by recipients like CAS's listbot. You can send such links in HTML
emails, but that does no good for those served by bots like CAS's. (And
I'd add that HTML emails are by and large a pox on the face of the
Internet, especially the ones with elaborate backgrounds and bizarre
fonts that render the message unreadable. They're also a fetid
breeding-pool for viruses and hacks.)

The trick: Simply put angle brackets <like so> around the URL. I'm told
that prevents the line-breakage.

I've tried it a few times, and it seems to work.

Isn't that nice.
