In a joint statement, Bloomsbury and Scholastic announced that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will be published in the U.S., Britain, Canada and Australia on the first day of summer, June 21. The new book will be the longest yet in the Potter series, with more than 255,000 words, compared to over 191,000 words in Goblet of Fire. Publication will come almost three years after the July 8, 2000, release of Goblet of Fire which has sold about 16 million copies in hardcover and paperback. Scholastic has not yet set a price or page count for its edition of Phoenix; The Bookseller reported that Bloomsbury's edition will be 768 pages long and priced at 16.99 pounds.
