I remember doing that - holding parking spaces - when
we were in an apartment for a year.  The complex did
nothing about plowing snow, yet they cleared all the
snow from a second complex they owned next to ours.

Having a shovel is a useful thing.  Just make sure
you're car's tail pipe is clear; The Post lists
several deaths of people who died of carbon monoxide
poisoning.
