I looked up where the Libertarian Party meeting is and it's pretty close to the Fair Grounds. Quilts can be very free form or very formal, so I hope the Libertarians drop by to check them out. Also, both events are close to a Gaithersburg original - Roy's Place. It's an amazing restaurant with hundreds (well close to) of different kinds of sandwiches. It's a great place to go with a group as long as you allow enough time. It is definitely a "slow food" place. There is also a wonderful Chinese restaurant that does a "fan size" lunch on week days - Fu Shing. It faces the Fair Grounds off Perry Parkway.
