I think you're more confused than I.  The calendar contradicts you:
"Friday, May 16th: WSFA Third Friday Meeting / Regular WSFA meeting (at the
Ginters' as usual)."   It says nothing about the First Friday meeting,
although it notes "May 2 - 4: Malice Domestic / A mystery convention in
Arlington Virginia."   Clearly "both May meetings would be in Virginia" is
not what "was announced at the last meeting."   And in fact what *I* was
told was that both May meetings would be in Maryland.   I was at a
convention in Madison, Wisconsin, last weekend; maybe I missed something
then, although there has been no discussion of this topic on this list
(until now).
