Not that I've heard.  In fact, the difference between equine and human
physiology and hormonal systems may be one reason that many women can't
use it -- it "overacts", overaffects.  Or so I've been told.

Or at least change them.  There are good and useful purposes for
ephedra, which are not necessarily the ones for which it's currently
being used, such as an additive for weight-loss preparations.  For more
information, you might want to check the entry on ephedra in "The Herb
Book," by John Lust, which is the most encyclopedic single herbal
reference I've run across.
