Good idea. It's always a pleasure to agree to a gentleman's
reasonable request. While I naturally believe that my opinions are solidly
based, you are completely correct in saying that even the most fervently
held beliefs should be discussed courteously rather than virulently. I
trust that I do not embarrass you by remarking that among your many fine
qualities -- beginning, of course, with Judy and Meridel -- is your ability
to disagree with another's policy without being disagreeable personally.
How can we bottle this quality and persuade various national politicians to
imbibe salutary doses?
