IE6 will display a bmp when the bmp is embedded in html. However, if one tries to open a local bmp using IE, IE will open Paint, a Windows app, to display the picture. The picture will not appear in the IE window. Likewise, if Netscape tries to open a local bmp, it will ask to open it using Windows Paint. But Netscape, apparently, will not show a bmp embedded in html. All the graphics > files on the WSFA web site are .JPG, .GIF, or .PNG. My IE6 browser shows the bmp just fine. It is a hieroglyphic cartouche, about 34 KB. Netscape 6.2 shows everything but the bmp. The URL you gave redirects to http://www.wsfa.org/capc04/ . I have converted that bmp to a 21 KB jpg, in case you want to substitute the jpg for the bmp. Shall I email it you? Ron Kean . ________________________________________________________________
