Wise WSFAns,

In a related thought to Sam's "sponsor a Clarion author who could insert
WSFA in their stories", what do you worthy folks think about doing an
anthology about Future Washington?

If we focused on hard futurist sf, meaning stuff using actual
projections about the area, government, and the world, it could be
interesting to more than just the SF community, and help position us
(and fandom) as more than just a pretty face. So to speak.

It might be interesting to set a common date for the stories, or failing
that, to organize them along a timeline starting with near future and
going forward.

I'm sure between the WSFAns and folks I know that we could get hold of
some brand name talent to seed the thing with, and pull in some good
fresh blood and hopefully some WSFA native talent besides.

By no means am I suggesting we spend a lot of money on this, but I think
it would be interesting to do, and give WSFA max publicity. Could the
Washington Post fail to review such a book? Wouldn't the search for
stories be news in itself?

I'd be happy to edit it, of course (Heck, I'd be happy to do anything on
it).
