Arriving while I was at BEA was an item I got via Ebay:

QUANTA, vol 1 no 1. - The Official Organ of the Washington
Science-Fiction Association.
10 cents per copy, 3 for 25 cents.
And sounding so typically WSFAish: ""Published If, When and While We
Feel Like It"

And Sam, this may sound familiar, at the bottom of the ToC: "CONTRIBUTE
YOUR SHORT STORIES AND ARTICLES TO QUANTA!"

There is no date in the zine, but it is postmarked 1948 and there is
"reprint" of an article from May 14, 1948 NY Times.

Officers are listed and just a little different from the current
listing. VP is Robert Briggs, Treasurre is listed as Franklin Kerkhof.

Staff is listed as:
Editor - Miles Davis
Production Manager - Ralph Moritz
Art Editor - Robert Briggs

Cover are is by Robert Briggs, interior art by Miles Davis.

The most interesting factoid is that WSFA met on 1st, 3rd, & 5th
Sundays, 8pm, at the Transportation Building, 17th & H. Sundays?
Gack.
