I downloaded and installed Firefox on a five year old W98 SE Power Spec
PC (bought from the Micro Center in Virginia). It seems to work fine,
and the built-in popup blocker does indeed block all popups. And the
popup blocker can be turned off. I don't notice that Firefox is any
faster than IE, and it seems that some java apps which work with IE don't
work with Firefox. But perhaps I have not configured it correctly - it
seems like a lot of work to research that, perhaps more trouble than it's
worth. I've noticed no problems with my email client (juno) after
installing Firefox.

Firefox might not be a completely finished product; the version I got is
less than 1.0 (0.9.2).
