Speaking from experience... do NOT upgrade a Win98 system to XP!

I like XP, but it does require a modern system.  A system currently
running Win98 will not have the ram, nor the processor speed to run XP
properly.  It is a recipe for disaster.  That is the bad news.  The good
news is that you can pick up a modern system that will run rings around
your Win98 box for well under $500.
