I just updated our online calendar <http://www.wsfa.org/calendar.htm>
with the new events mentioned here, and a few others I've recently
learned of.

Except for the Andrew Fox event, which I haven't listed, and don't
plan to list. (Ten points to whoever first figures out why not.)

Yes, Ted, Olsson's Arlington Courthouse location, and Olsson's 2111
Wilson Blvd are the same store. It's adjacent to the Arlington
Courthouse Metro -- you don't even have to cross a street. (But
only if you take the correct exit from the station. Otherwise you
might have a hard time even finding the place.) It also has very
inexpensive classical CDs, which are incongruously displayed in
galvanized steel basins.

I've never run into Ted in a bookstore, but I have run into Madeleine
a few times. And I ran into Hannah Shapero in a grocery store this
week -- she works there.

Elspeth, I don't recall ever claiming that spam would "kill the
Internet" or anything like that. I have claimed that it could make
email unusable for communication between strangers, and I still
claim that.

I agree with Erica that Japan is not a good choice for the Worldcon,
for the reason she gave and several other reasons. Expense, airline
security hassles, passport and visa hassles, and differing cultural
expectations. I'm surprised you're posting today, Erica. I thought
you were out of town. Will you be at tonight's meeting?

I will be at this year's Worldcon, but probably not next year's. Nor
at Philcon, or anything else further away than Baltimore. I don't
plan to travel much until the war on terror is over, since I intensely
dislike being treated as a suspected terrorist.

I'll see most of you in a few hours.
