I think it was The Media Blog. The creator of the blog had an announcement that Scotty died. The creator also seemed upset about Mr. Doohans false passing. I followed the link to the obit and the obit seemed legitmate. I don't think I was being extremely naive or gulliable by believing the post. Mr. Doohan is 84 and suffering from two very serious diseases. I aplogize to Keith and anyone else who I made embarass themselves by posting the information elsewhere. However I find all the talk about me being a troll to be very upsetting and disheartening. I have been posting to this newsgroup for over two years. I have certainly particpated in flame wars and explosive arguments with people on this list but so have many other fandom posters. I don't think any of my posts to this newsgroup have been trollish in anyway. Or at least by my definition of troll. Several of my posts (e.g. fandom sins) have led to several long and I presume well-liked threads because otherwise they would have burnt up and died. I like SF, fandom, and have been to cons. Kare (Aiglet) is one of my closest friends from college. Czarfire is my twin brother. So in a potentinally hurtful desire to hear the truth. Why am I being considered a troll for posting information which I originally thought was true but turned out to be false. I wasn't gloating about Mr. Doohans death nor was I mocking anyone for liking Star Trek. I was very upset when I read the false obit on Friday night and am very glad that he is alive. I only wish he wasn't suffering so much. Dale
