This from Janice Gelb, via Parris:

According to Parris, who stayed in Boston to take
care of David, he is recovering remarkably well
from the operation. The rest of this email is
taken from her latest progress report:

The drugs he's on for pain are working well, he's
got more tubes and wires going in and out of him than
Doc Ock, and is in pretty good spirits.

Currently, he hopes to be in the hospital for 5-7 days
and then at the Best Western across from the hospital
for another 5-7 days before returning to Philly.

David has asked me to tell folks that instead of sending
him flowers and the like, that you make a donation to Beth
Israel Deaconess Hospital in thanks for the excellent care
they have given him. I spoke to someone in the fundraising
department, and here is her reply to my inquiry:

Donations in honor of David may be sent to
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC)
      Attn:Connie Goldman
      330 Brookline Avenue
      Boston, MA 02215

Checks should be made out to BIDMC

He'll be moved to another floor, possibly as early as
tomorrow afternoon. The new room will have a phone and
then we can all start giving him calls. I will post that
information when I have it.

David sends thanks and regards to all who are keeping him
in their thoughts and prayers, all sects, flavors and
pantheons welcomed.
