Er, I believe that "this guy" is going to be on a book tour this fall as
Norton is bringing out a collection of his reviews and essays.  But we
should be able to get him next year when he's not so busy.

(Sorry for being snarky about your phrasing, you just hit a nerve about the
way that people involved with SF are considered.

Dirda is great and as a bibliophile and a local I noticed his work even
before I got involved in the SF field, long before I was involved with
WSFA, and even longer before I knew that he'd done anything with the
Journal.  While a fan of SF -- and the reason there's a monthly SF page in
Bookworld -- he's also a nationally known and respected reviewer and
essayist . . .

Oh.  Um.  I just noticed that I'm in the saddle of a high horse with no
idea of how I got here or how to get back down.)
